THE EMPTY CHAIR™
One Chair. One Story. One Conversation.
Every empty chair represents a story waiting to be heard. The Empty Chair™ is a podcast built around honest conversations with real people. No performances. No perfect answers. No pressure to impress. Just one person, one story, and the kind of conversation we do not have often enough.
Hosted by Mickey Trivett
What Happens When Someone Finally Takes the Chair?
Each episode begins with an empty chair. Then someone sits down and brings a story. Some stories are about rebuilding. Some are about grief. Some are about courage, failure, purpose, relationships, anxiety, family, faith, business, identity, or starting over. The goal is not to create a perfect interview. The goal is to create a real conversation. Mickey listens without judgment, asks thoughtful questions, and gives each guest room to share the parts of their story that may help someone else feel less alone.
Real People
Guests do not need to be celebrities or experts. They simply need a story worth sharing.
Honest Conversations
No scripted answers. No rapid-fire questions. No pressure to perform.
Meaningful Impact
Every episode should leave the listener with a better question, a new perspective, or the reminder that they are not alone.
The Chair Is Empty for a Reason.
The empty chair represents more than the next guest.
the story someone has never told
the conversation someone has been avoiding
the person who feels invisible
the loved one who is no longer here
the younger version of ourselves
the future version of ourselves
the words left unsaid
the person listening who may need to hear this story
Every empty chair holds possibility.
Meet Mickey Trivett
Mickey Trivett is the founder of Simple Truths Club, creator of Mirror Conversations™ and The Mirror Method™, and an author, speaker, artist, and lifelong community builder. After overcoming years of childhood speech therapy and being told he may never speak normally, Mickey eventually became a national speaker. His life experiences, including the loss of his teenage brother to suicide, decades of entrepreneurship, community building, and his own journey with anxiety, shaped his belief that most people do not need someone to tell them how to live. They need someone willing to listen long enough for them to hear themselves again.

Sometimes the Chair Stays Empty.
Not every episode requires a guest. In solo episodes, Mickey may speak to the empty chair, reflect on a question, tell a personal story, honor someone, or explore a conversation many people are having silently.
