Truth #20 of 100
THE WOLF
“Loyalty matters more than popularity. The people closest to you should be those who bring value, trust, and support into your life, not just those who happen to be nearby.”
There comes a point in life when you realize not everyone is rooting for you.
That’s a hard lesson.
When we’re younger, we tend to believe everyone who smiles at us is a friend. Everyone who sits at our table belongs there. Everyone who enters our life deserves unlimited access to it.
Life has a way of correcting that.
Some people celebrate your wins.
Others resent them.
Some people protect your peace.
Others create chaos wherever they go.
Some people help build the fire.
Others only show up to enjoy the warmth.
The wolf understands something many people learn the hard way.
A pack isn’t about numbers.
It’s about trust.
A wolf would rather stand beside a few loyal companions than be surrounded by a hundred strangers.
The older I get, the smaller my circle becomes, but the stronger it gets.
Not because I dislike people.
Because I’ve learned that access is earned.
Your time is valuable.
Your energy is valuable.
Your peace is valuable.
And not everyone deserves a front-row seat to your life.
That doesn’t make you cold.
It makes you wise.
The people sitting around your fire should be the ones who add wood when the flames get low. The ones who stay when the weather turns bad. The ones who celebrate your victories and help carry your burdens.
Those people are rare.
Protect them.
Appreciate them.
And be that person for them in return.
Because in a world full of temporary connections, a loyal pack is one of the most valuable things you’ll ever have.
And the truth is…
Not everyone deserves a seat around your fire.
But the ones who do are worth more than gold.
