The Turtle

We live in a world that celebrates speed. Faster internet. Faster shipping. Faster success. Faster results. Everybody wants to get there first. The problem is life doesn’t always work that way. Some goals take years. Some healing takes longer than we expected. Some dreams move forward one tiny step at a time. And if you’re not careful, you’ll start looking around at everyone else’s progress and convince yourself you’re falling behind. I’ve done it. I’ve looked at where I wanted to be and got frustrated because I wasn’t there yet. I’ve wondered why things weren’t moving faster. Why the finish line felt so far away. Then life reminded me of something simple. The turtle doesn’t care how fast the rabbit is running. It only cares about taking the next step. That’s wisdom. The turtle understands something most of us forget. You don’t have to move fast to move forward. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to make giant leaps every day. You just have to keep going. One step. One choice. One day. One small victory at a time. The truth is, most of the things I’m proudest of in my life didn’t happen overnight. They were built slowly. Through consistency. Through showing up when nobody was watching. Through refusing to quit when progress felt invisible. That’s the part nobody talks about. Success isn’t usually a sprint. It’s a thousand small steps taken by someone stubborn enough to keep moving. So if you’re feeling behind, stop measuring your journey against someone else’s. The turtle isn’t racing the world. It’s simply refusing to stop. And sometimes that’s more than enough.
