THE FIRE
“Adversity has the power to transform us. The struggles that seem to be breaking us today may be forging the strength, wisdom, and character we need tomorrow.”
Nobody likes going through the fire.
We pray for easier roads. We ask for fewer problems. We wish certain chapters had never happened. If we’re being honest, most of us would gladly skip the hard parts and go straight to the happy ending.
I know I would.
But when I look back at my life, the moments that shaped me weren’t the easy ones. They were the painful ones. The losses. The failures. The disappointments. The nights I wasn’t sure what came next. The seasons that tested everything I thought I knew about myself.
Fire has a funny way of revealing what matters.
It burns away excuses. It burns away pride. It burns away the things we’ve been holding onto that were never helping us in the first place.
And when the smoke clears, you’re left with something stronger than what went in.
Not untouched.
Not unscarred.
Stronger.
The truth is, some of the best parts of who I am today were forged in moments I never would have chosen for myself.
That’s why I don’t curse every fire anymore.
Some fires destroy.
Others refine.
The trick is learning the difference.
So if you’re walking through one right now, don’t be so quick to assume it’s the end of your story.
It might just be the part that’s shaping the person you’re becoming.
